Lennox Head has a sub tropical climate that makes it a perfect place to holiday year round. With sunny days and warm temperatures common for most of the year, Lennox Head is the ideal beach holiday destination.
Spring in Lennox Head is a great time to visit with smaller crowds and the days growing longer and warmer. This time of year also has the lowest average rainfall, making it a great pre-summer break. There can, however, be stormy weather which could bring up the total rainfall (this doesn’t happen every year).
Spring School holidays tend to be end of September – beginning of October.
Labour Day is first monday in October and is a public holiday in NSW.
Summer around the Northern Rivers region has the hottest days (average around 28 ºC), though some years the temperatures can get well iabove 30ºC. The sun is not only hot but strong so wear plenty of sunblock. Due to the high temperatures and humidity, it can result in tropical storms occasionally. The ocean is warm and perfect for days on the beach where you’ll usually get a northerly breeze. As well as the hottest time of year in Lennox Head it is also the busiest, coinciding with Summer school holidays and Christmas.
School summer holidays start 2nd half of December.

Australia Day is 26th January and is a national holiday.
Autumn is more pleasant if you don’t like the very hot temperatures of Summer. Average temperatures in Lennox Head stay warm (in the mid-20’s) right up to the onset of Winter. The water is still warm though and the end of daylight saving also means warmer mornings.
Autumn School holidays are around March-April time.
Easter long weekend will be busy.
Anzac Day is 25th April and is a public holiday.
The coldest month in Lennox is July where the average daily maximum is 20.1ºC and the minimum 8.2 ºC. So you will need to wrap up in the evening and surfers will need a wetsuit. The days are usually dry and sunny though.
Winter School holidays tend to be in June.
Queens Birthday is 2nd Monday in June for NSW creates a long weekend holiday.
