Beaches around Lennox Head

As Lennox Head is a coastal town on the East Coast of Australia, it has plenty of beautiful beaches to explore, relax on or may be go fishing, surfing or walk the dog. 

We listed the beaches in the Lennox Head area – they’re basically all beautiful!

Seven Mile Beach is a long, white sand beach at Lennox Head. With one of Australia’s best right-hand surfing breaks and rock pools at the south end. There’s picnic tables along the foreshore in front of the village all the way to Lake Ainsworth and the Surf Club.  A popular beach for fishing, surfing and if the wind’s right, kite boarding. 

The sea is prone to rips so please swim in the patrolled area only or go to Lake Ainsworth.

Named after the rocky beach, it’s popular for surfers and fishing. Not much sand, virtually all pebbles and rocks. There is a grassy hill overlooking the north and south Boulder beaches (both rocky). Not suitable for those with a disability and not recommended for young children. If you want to go swimming, please go to either Seven Mile or Sharpes Beach (in between the flags) or even Lake Ainsworth. 

Skenners Beach, Lennox Head

A secluded  beach due to it being off the beaten track. Located in between Lennox Headland and Boulder Beach. Access is via a bush track off the coast road or along the headland walking trail. 

It is a sandy beach but no patrols and more difficult access. 

 

Sharpes Beach, Skenners Head

Dogs Allowed: On lead only and not north of front of surf tower/ carpark.

Swimming: Yes, to conditions.

Just a few minutes drive from Lennox Head or a walk over the headland and past Boulders Beach (30 mins walk) is Sharpes Beach. A smaller beach than Seven Mile and popular with surfers and locals. White and sandy.
